OC Archive: Adriana Zabala (Cherubino) in The Marriage of Figaro (2019)

Adriana Zabala as Cherubino, Ellie Dehn as Countess Almaviva, and Maureen McKay as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro.

Cherubino (Adriana Zabala) is a young page boy who falls desperately in love with every woman he meets. However, the Countess (Ellie Dehn) fills him with the most passion and angst. In this scene, Cherubino finds himself in the Countess’ chambers with Susanna (Maureen McKay) and the Countess herself. Susanna teasingly convinces the infatuated youth to sing his love song “Voi che sapete” to his muse. He sings of highs and lows of teenage passion and the Countess listens first with amusement, then with increasing interest. Can she resist the fervor of her fledgling suitor?

  1. Enjoyed the clip of the opera!
I cannot wait until the opera season is open! And we can once again go in person to experience opera in person! The way it should really be experienced, not on film!
However, until we can actually go back to the theatre to experience the opera in person, keep doing what you are doing!
    Thank you!

    Sincerely, Sheila Hoben
