Opera Colorado believes in the life-changing power of our art form—for learners of all ages. We’re pleased to offer several programs geared towards adults and communities and would love to bring opera to your community center, church, senior living center, or other group space.

ARIAS & ENSEMBLES

Cost: $600

A concert–style experience not to be missed! Performed by Opera Colorado’s Artists in Residence, this delightful program features highlights from operatic and musical theater repertoire. Selections are performed as they would be on stage but without the use of sets and costumes, creating an intimate and engaging experience. Designed to entertain and educate, the program ends with a Q&A session which gives the audience unique insight into the world of opera.

OPERA ON TOUR: Hansel and Gretel by Englebert Humperdink

Cost: $1200

Follow the trail of breadcrumbs to Opera Colorado’s production of the beloved fairytale Hansel and Gretel. Stranded in the Magic Forest, things look “Grimm” indeed for Gretel and her brother Hansel. What follows is an enchanted odyssey through a magical forest and a house made of gingerbread. The pair encounters everything from a magical Sandman to a witch with a sweet tooth who really likes kids—well done, that is! Sung in English and staged traditionally, this enchanting performance is sure to entertain audiences of all ages.

OPERA ON TOUR: Romeo & Juliet by Charles Gounod

Cost: $1200

Experience the timeless story of Romeo & Juliet in a powerful, modernized production. Sung primarily in English with portions of the original French, this unique version weaves Shakespeare’s text with Gounod’s expressive melodies. This performance offers an accessible way to bring Shakespeare to life in a theatrical setting.

LECTURES

Cost: $200 per hour

Of all the fine arts, opera is the most collaborative and multidisciplinary. These fully customizable lectures offer proof! Led by Opera Colorado’s Teaching Artists, these fun and informative talks integrate opera into a wide variety of subjects, including Performing Arts, Communication, Interpersonal Skills, Shakespeare, and much more.
