Opera Colorado offers several field trip opportunities for school groups, all taking place at the beautiful Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the downtown Denver Performing Arts Complex. And, did you know that we also offer partial scholarships for ANY of our educational programs? Cost: $12 per 6th–12th grade student; $15 per college student or chaperone

The 2018-19 Opera Colorado season includes two of the most beloved operas of all time, performed at the spectacular Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Join us for the final rehearsal before Opening Night, featuring full costume, wigs, and makeup—and a live orchestra! Online teacher guidebooks prepare your class for their night at the opera, and you can further enhance the experience with an optional pre-performance discussion or post-performance talk-back. Or, request to add on a free tour of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House!* These dress rehearsals offer a wonderful way to introduce older students to a traditional opera experience.

*Discussions, talk-backs, and tours must be arranged in advance.

Featuring the Artists in Residence, Opera Colorado presents one of the most beloved comic operas of all time. The wily Figaro and his girlfriend, Susanna, are set to marry, but things don’t go as smoothly as planned. Between a girl-crazy teenager, a conniving Count and a very clever Countess… What unfolds is hilarious chaos set to a sparkling score. Plus, stay after the performance for an interactive talk-back with the cast and crew.

Stage craft, professional singing, wigs and makeup, costumes, fight choreography, and more! Explore the world backstage at interactive stations created to provide hands-on learning opportunities. It’s a field trip unlike any other. One of Opera Colorado’s most popular programs, these workshops sell out quickly! Backstage Workshops take place at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
