DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

The Director of Development is a key member of the Company’s senior leadership team working with the General Director to design, implement and develop the resources to support the next chapter of Opera Colorado’s history. The Director of Development determines the overarching fundraising philosophy; designing, implementing and overseeing a strategic fundraising program that achieves a major expansion of the Company’s donor base while nurturing the existing donor community and inspiring increased loyalty and support. The Director of Development ensures the smooth running of the daily fundraising operations through oversight of contributed income, and leads a current departmental staff of two fundraising professionals. This position works as part of a Senior Management team, which also includes the Director of Finance and Administration, Director of External Affairs and Marketing, Director of Education and Community Engagement Programs, and the Production Manager. Extensive experience in fundraising and special campaign management in the not-for-profit arts environment is essential. The selected candidate will have demonstrated that he/she can provide self-initiated management and leadership to advance the company’s mission, artistic vision and strategic plans.
