subtitles projected above the stage.

Join us for Bizet’s famous drama, Carmen, filled with some of opera’s most iconic melodies— including Carmen’s “Habanera” and the rousing Toreador Song. Not a soul can resist Carmen’s charm, not even the naïve Don Jose. But when she leaves him for a charismatic bullfighter, Don Jose’s infatuation turns obsessive. What fate, or choice, waits for the woman no one can tame? True to the lure of classic Spain, Carmen will provide an unforgettable opera experience. (The abridged Student Matinee performance is approximately 120 minutes and features content appropriate for student audiences.)

Performed live in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, featuring the 2021-22 Opera Colorado Artists in Residence and the Opera Colorado Orchestra and Chorus.
