Ticket Flexibility

In recognition of the great uncertainty created by the current health situation, we have reviewed our ticket policies to make sure we are as flexible and accommodating as possible in the event you are unable to attend a performance. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have recently been exposed to COVID-19, please do not attend the performance and call Patron Services for custom ticketing options.

Under our standard policy, subscribers may exchange their tickets for a different performance, for free, up to 24 hours in advance of the original performance. Exchanges within 24 hours will incur a $5 per ticket fee. Non-subscribers may also exchange tickets, based on availability, for a $5 per ticket fee. Please note that additional costs may apply to both subscribers and non-subscribers if upgrading seats, or exchanging from a Tuesday performance to a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Opera Colorado typically does not issue refunds for reasons including but not limited to subtitle malfunction, weather conditions, or change in cast or orchestra. If your performance is cancelled for any reason, Opera Colorado will contact you with options to exchange, donate, or receive a refund for your tickets.

Booking Protect

Opera Colorado has partnered with Booking Protect to provide you peace of mind with your ticket purchase. We recommend adding Booking Protect to your order, as without it all tickets are non-refundable.

Booking Protect costs just 6% of your pre-tax order total and allows you to apply for a full refund should you or anyone in your party be unable to attend due to a qualifying reason such as illness, family emergency, or inclement weather. Full details here.

Claim a refund up to 45 days after your performance date through a simple process exclusively on the Booking Protect website. By adding Booking Protect to your order, you are agreeing to their Terms of Service (download terms of service here).

Parking Advisory

Opera Colorado does not offer refunds in the event of a late arrival or missed performance. Please arrive early to allow adequate time for parking! For events at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, be aware that the Denver Performing Arts Complex is host to several events a day, and the DPAC Garage fills up quickly. However, you may pre-purchase parking online or by phone. Late-comers will be seated at the earliest possible break in the performance; for some performances, this may not be until the first intermission.

Accessibility, Special Seating, or Other Assistance

The Ellie Caulkins Opera House is accessible for persons with disabilities; please call at least 24 hours prior to the performance if you will need assistance. Additionally, free audio-enhanced infrared listening systems are available at all performances at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Lost Tickets

Call our Patron Services team at 303.468.2030. We will arrange new tickets for you to pick up at Will Call.

Donating Tickets

You may donate your tickets up to 5 pm on the business day before your performance and receive credit for a tax deduction. Call 303.468.2030 for additional information.

English & Spanish Subtitles

Each seat at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House features a subtitle system, operated by City of Denver Arts & Venues. Instructions for operating the titling system are included in the program book you’ll receive at the performance. (A synopsis of the opera is also printed in the program book.) If you experience difficulty with the system, please contact an usher for assistance. Opera Colorado does not offer refunds or exchanges in the event of subtitle system failure.

Statute of Limitations

Any issues relating to ticketing or seating must be filed within 72 hours following the ticket performance. All ensuing actions must be rectified within seven days of the ticketed performance.

Warning: Buying Tickets from Other Sources

The only official website for purchasing Opera Colorado tickets is With the popularity of Opera Colorado performances, some ticket brokers and websites try to sell opera tickets at highly inflated prices.

Please be aware that Opera Colorado cannot guarantee that tickets sold from a third-party broker are valid. If you buy tickets from a broker and they are overpriced or invalid, Opera Colorado can assume no responsibility for these fraudulent sales, and we are unable to refund the ticket price or reseat you in valid seats. Please know from whom you are purchasing before handing over your credit card!
